Double Coat Model Varnish

Double Coat Model Varnish is a two-component topcoat based on saturated polyester resins and modified aromatic isocyanates. This high-gloss Double Coat topcoat has been specially developed for polyester models, plugs and moulds.
Features Double Coat Model Varnish
- Excellent flow, easy to apply with an air sprayer.
- Good resistance to various chemicals.
- In combination with Double Coat Model Varnish Hardener, it is resistant to gelcoat and styrene within 24 hours.
- High gloss and scratch resistance.
- Good adhesion to polyester, wood, MDF and Poltix fillers.
- Suitable as topcoat for models and plugs to be moulded with polyester.

Application time: 4 hours (at 20°C)
Recommended layer thickness: 35 - 50 µm (dry), depending on the application
Dust dry after: approx. 30 minutes
Full cure: 7 days
Recoating interval:
- minimum: 24 hours (at 20°C)
- maximum: unlimited, if sanded, clean and grease-free
Specific gravity: approx. 1,3 g/cm3 (mixed)
Solids content: approx. 59 % (volume)
Shelf life: separate components, stored cool and dry in original packaging, minimum 12 months
