Working safely with epoxy
When working with epoxy or epoxy casting resin, it is very important to work safely. In addition to the right type of epoxy, we also supply all necessary personal protection equipment to ensure safe working practices. To work safely with epoxy, you need the following personal protective equipment (PPE):
- Nitrile gloves
When working with epoxy, always wear suitable gloves to prevent skin contact. We supply various disposable gloves to work safely with various resins including epoxy. When working with epoxy, we recommend using nitrile gloves. - Safety glasses
To avoid getting resin in your eyes, we recommend using safety glasses. To avoid skin contact, we therefore recommend always working in covering clothes. Avoid working in shorts. - Vapour mask
"Should I wear a vapour mask while working with epoxy?" This a question we get regularly. Organic vapours are always released when curing epoxy. It is therefore important to always work in a well-ventilated area. If you work with epoxy for long periods or if you cannot ventilate the work area, we recommend using a fume mask. You will find more information about this in the "Personal protection" category.
There is much more to say about working safely with epoxy. We wrote an extensive article about this. Therefore, before ordering epoxy, read about safety in the article "Working safely with epoxy".

Frequently asked questions
Epoxy is a liquid material from the polymer family. The plastic always consists of two components:
A - A liquid base component
B - A liquid hardener.
After mixing both components, the material will cure through a chemical reaction into a hard, plastic-like material. Epoxy resin is simple and very versatile to use. For example, you can cast a silicone mold with it, make paintings, laminate glass fabric, cover surfaces, coat tables or other surfaces and make shower floors waterproof. Epoxy is also often used in boat building. So a very versatile product!
