What do you use RESION UV Light Cure for?
RESION UV Resin is suitable for very small castings or to bond something to epoxy. For example, this resin is very suitable for making small jewelry or key chains. You can also use UV Light Cure to easily incorporate dried flowers into your creations.
For larger castings (such as casting coasters) we recommend using a 2-component epoxy. This epoxy is UV-resistant and therefore will not yellow from exposure to UV light. Moreover, this epoxy resin is also very easy to use due to its 2:1 mixing ratio.
Instructions for use
RESION UV Light Cure is very easy to use. Follow the steps below for a perfect result:
- Prepare your workplace properly. Provide a clean and well-ventilated work area. Put on nitrile gloves to avoid direct contact with UV Resin. Then place the mould on a stable surface.
- Carefully pour the UV Resin into the mould and add any dried flowers, glitter or stones. We do not recommend using pigments as it may adversely affect the curing process.
- Use a needle or skewer to puncture any air bubbles in the resin. This helps to get a smooth and airless end result.
- Turn on the UV lamp and hold it over the filled mould at a distance of about 2-5 cm. Make sure the resin is fully exposed to the UV light. The curing times vary, but it usually takes only 1-3 minutes.
- After exposure to UV light, check the resin for curing. If it still feels sticky, repeat step 4 for an additional curing time.
- Once the resin is fully cured, you can carefully remove the mould. The UV Resin should now be clear and hard.
Avoid leaving your works of art in the sun to prevent yellowing. Want your workpieces to stay clear for as long as possible? Then use epoxy casting resin.
