Protect your polyester boat against osmosis with International Gelshield 200. This fast-drying epoxy primer is easy to apply and vapour-tight, making it the ideal primer for protecting polyester against osmosis. The 2-component epoxy primer can be used at temperatures from 5°C and cures quickly, allowing you to apply multiple coats in a single day.

For effective osmosis protection, we recommend applying at least five coats of Gelshield 200, with a total dry film thickness of approximately 250 µm.

Directions for use

Follow the instructions below to correctly apply International Gelshield 200:

Degrease the polyester with International Super Cleaner and sand the surface using P180–P220 grit sandpaper.
Remove all dust from the surface with a tack cloth.
Open the packaging and mix the components separately before combining them.
Add the hardener to the base and stir thoroughly.
Let the mixture stand for 10 minutes to allow any air bubbles to escape.
Apply the number of coats specified in the technical documentation (minimum total dry film thickness 250 microns DLD).

Note: if your boat is made of wood, steel, aluminum, or any material other than polyester, use International Interprotect (2-component primer) or International Primocon (1-component primer) as the primer below the waterline.
