Good maintenance of your boat, ship or yacht is essential for optimal enjoyment. Especially for water sports, International has Primocon, a primer for sealing and protecting a bare surface below the water line. This primer from International is a maintenance product that cannot be missed in our range.

Primocon Primer from International is a 1-component primer for the underwater hull of the boat. This International primer is easy to use, free of tar and quick drying. Primocon also has an anti-corrosive effect, which makes the primer suitable for use on aluminum, polyester, lead, steel, wood, carbon fibre and cast iron. Primocon is used by professional yacht building companies, but is also very suitable for boat owners because of its easy application.

Tip: for a good adhesion on polyester surfaces and protection against osmosis, we recommend International Gelshield 200 as epoxy primer.

Suitable substrates

International Primocon Primer is suitable for use on the following substrates:

Directions for use

Clean and degrease the surface thoroughly. Then sand according to the recommendations for your substrate (see table). Remove all sanding dust and stir the primer well before use.

Apply International Primocon Primer using a fleece roller, brush or Airless spray. The recommended dry film thickness is 40 microns (121 microns wet) with a coverage of approximately 8 m²per litre per coat.
The primer becomes tack-free after 1 hour and can be recoated with Primocon after 3 hours.
Allow the primer to cure for a maximum of 24 hours before applying your chosen International antifouling, such as Interspeed Extra, Micron LZ or Cruiser One.

Tip: with the Antifouling accessory kit you have everything you need to apply Primocon immediately!
