Sika Primer-215

Sika Primer-215 is a colourless to light yellow, solvent-based primer that reacts with moisture to form a thin film. This layer acts as a bond between the substrate and the adhesive. Sika Primer-215 is specifically formulated for priming surfaces prior to the application of Sika's 1-component polyurethane adhesives and sealants.

Suitable substrates

Sika Primer-215 is used to improve adhesion on many plastics (such as GRP, epoxy, PVC, ABS) and wood. Due to the wide variety of plastics, preliminary tests should be conducted on original substrates under production conditions. This primer is also commonly used as a primer for bonding rubbers, such as fender strips.

Directions for use

• Clean the surface thoroughly, ensuring it is dry and free from grease, oil, dust, or other contaminants. Adhesion can be improved by pretreating the surface, e.g. by sanding, cleaning, or activating, or a combination of these methods. 
• Apply a thin but fully covering layer of Sika Primer-215 using a brush, felt, or foam roller.
• The ideal application and surface temperature is between 15°C and 25°C.
• Apply the primer in a single coat, ensuring complete coverage in one application.
• Close the container carefully immediately after use.
