SoftSand is a unique rubber sand that provides anti-slip properties to most paints and coatings. This versatile product can be used in a variety of applications and is compatible with most urethane, epoxy and acrylic paints, such as epoxy floor coating and Double Coat DD paint. SoftSand particles are non-staining and weather resistant, making them ideal for exterior applications and as anti-slip granules on boat decks.
Anti-slip granules come in a convenient sprinkler can that allows easy spreading over the surface.
SoftSand rubber particles can be used in the same way as sand and other non-skid additives. You can mix the particles directly into the paint (Mix'n Go method) or sprinkle them over the wet paint (Broadcast method) after painting the deck.
In this method, the non-skid granules are hand broadcast on to the paint. Apply the paint in a slightly thicker layer than usual. Hand broadcast the non-skid granules on to the paint, so that the entire surface is covered. After the paint has hardened, you can wipe away the excess granules (these can be reused) and you can paint the surface again.

In the Mix'n Go method, the particles are stired directly into the paint, which is then applied with a brush, roller or sprayer (preferably using a textured roller). We recommend applying at least 2 coats of paint in this way.
