FEXSIL develops products for treating and painting over silicone joints. The product range addresses a common problem in painting: paint does not naturally adhere well to silicone sealant. With the right preparation, FEXSIL makes it possible to neatly finish silicone joints with a suitable paint system.

The products are suitable for both new joints and the renovation of existing silicone joints. Examples include sealant joints around windows and doors that you want to paint in the same colour as the surrounding surface.

Painting over silicone with FEXSIL

Silicone sealant is difficult to paint over directly because paint does not adhere sufficiently to the surface. FEXSIL offers products that allow you to prepare the silicone surface before applying paint.

An important product in the range is FEXPRIME. This one-component primer and adhesion promoter forms a thin bonding layer on the silicone joint. After the specified drying time, the treated joint can be painted over with a suitable paint system.

FEXPRIME remains flexible and ensures good adhesion of the coating to the sealant. The primer is solvent-free, low-odour and suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
