Fexsil FEXPRIME

FEXPRIME (formerly SiliPainter One) is a one-component primer and adhesion promoter that makes silicone joints paintable. The primer forms a thin, stable bonding layer between the silicone sealant and a suitable paint system. This allows paint to adhere properly to a surface that is normally difficult to paint.

FEXPRIME is suitable for both new silicone joints and the renovation of existing joints and can be used indoors and outdoors.

Applications

Use FEXPRIME to prepare silicone joints that you want to paint afterwards. It is suitable, for example, for silicone joints around windows and doors or joints that need to be refinished during renovation work.

The primer can be used on both new and existing silicone joints. The final paint system must be suitable for this application and comply with DIN 52460 and DIN 52452-4. Paintability must be demonstrated in accordance with DIN 52452-4 A3.

How to use FEXPRIME

1. Make sure the silicone joint is dry and free from dust, grease and release agents. Do not use soap or washing-up liquid.
2. Stir FEXPRIME thoroughly before use. Then apply a thin layer of approximately 20-30 µm using a suitable brush or PUR sponge. Apply a second coat if necessary.
3. FEXPRIME can be painted over after approximately 20 to 60 minutes. The exact time depends on the ambient temperature.
4. Paint over the treated silicone joint while the primer is still fresh.
5. After approximately 1 hour, the primer is water-resistant. Full curing and mechanical resistance are achieved after approximately 21 days.

Apply FEXPRIME at temperatures between +5 °C and +30 °C and avoid application in high heat or direct sunlight. Use the entire contents after opening.
