Different types of epoxy resin

At Polyestershoppen.com you will find different types of epoxy resin. In order to calculate your required amount of expoy, it is important to know exactly which product you have. To determine which product suits you or to determine which product you have at home, we are happy to list our products for you:

Additional tips for calculating epoxy

For common shapes such as rectangles, squares and circles, you can use standard formulas to calculate the amount of epoxy needed. In addition, there are several useful, free apps that calculate the amount of epoxy for you. It is important to determine how thick the layer of epoxy on your product will be. For example, are you going to coat a table? Then a layer thickness of 1.0 to 2.0 mm is usual.

Calculate yourself with a calculator

Would you rather calculate the amount of epoxy you need with a calculator or do you not have the table to hand? Then, of course, we will be happy to explain the best way to do this. Use the following formulas to perform a correct calculation:

  • Rectangles: length in cm x width in cm x layer thickness in cm x 1.1 (this is the specific gravity) : 1000 = number of kg of epoxy resin.
  • Circles: 3.14 (pi) x radius in cm (half diameter) x radius in cm x layer thickness in cm x 1.1 = number of kg of epoxy resin.

When you start calculating the amount of epoxy you need, it is good to know that one litre always gives 1 mm layer thickness per m2, 1 litre of epoxy equals 1100 gr. This means 1100 grams of epoxy gives 1 mm layer thickness per m2.
