RESION Polyester Laminating Resin (ISO))
- ISO laminating resin
- High chemical resistance
- Contents: 220 kg (drum)
This isophthalic polyester resin (ISO) is a high-quality, thixotropic laminating resin dissolved in styrene. The pre-accelerated resin features a colour indicator that shows the progress of curing and indicates the presence of peroxide. Thanks to its excellent chemical and mechanical properties and good water resistance, this resin is particularly suitable for applications in yacht construction.
Features of ISO laminating resin
- ISO-quality laminating resin (isophthalic).
- Thixotropic polyester resin.
- Excellent fibre glass adhesion.
- High chemical resistance.
- High mechanical strength.
- Colour indicator to confirm the addition of hardener.
What is the difference between ISO and ORTHO?
ISO (isophthalic) laminating resin differs from ORTH (orthophthalic) laminating resin mainly in chemical composition, mechanical properties, and application possibilities. ISO laminating resin offers higher chemical resistance, better mechanical strength, and results in a more durable laminate. It shrinks less during curing and is more resistant to chemicals such as oil, fuel, and grease.
Directions for use
- Determine the required amount of hardener according to the table below (1.5–2.5% MEKP hardener).
- Add the hardener to the polyester resin and mix thoroughly.
- Pot life is approximately 30 minutes at 20 °C.
- Curing time of the polyester resin is 4–6 hours at 20 °C.
