Mirka Ultimax Ligno (per box)
At a glance
- Wood sandpaper
- Optimal cutting performance
- Grit: P40–P240
Mirka Ultimax Ligno Sanding Discs are specially developed for sanding wood, providing fast, consistent cutting performance thanks to Mirka’s distinctive hourglass sanding pattern. The segmented surface increases sanding pressure on each grit. Dust is efficiently extracted through specially designed channels, preventing clogging and swirling on the work surface.
Each segment of this wood sandpaper features four sharp edges and two angled surfaces, which continuously create additional cutting edges during sanding. This ensures fast, even cutting performance and excellent sanding results, ideal for both fine and coarse woodworking.
The sandpaper is made from latex-impregnated paper for flexibility and edge durability and features the Mirka Multifit hole pattern, which effectively extracts dust and reduces heat build-up during sanding.

The product's dimensions, usually shown as length × width × height or another product-specific order. Check whether the measurements describe the outside, inside or usable space, especially for containers and moulds.
- Ø 150mm
-
The number of individual products or parts supplied in one set. A set may contain several identical items or a mixture of components; check the package contents for exactly what is included.

-
The backing material that supports a functional layer, such as paper or fabric behind abrasive grains or film behind an adhesive coating. The backing affects flexibility, tear resistance and suitability for wet or dry use.
- latex paper, D-paper/C-paper
-
The arrangement of extraction holes in a sanding disc or backing pad. A matching hole pattern helps remove sanding dust. Check that the holes line up with the backing pad and dust extraction system.

Grit size affects how much material an abrasive removes and how fine the resulting scratch pattern is. On the FEPA-P scale, the higher the P number, the finer the abrasive grit.
- P60-P80: coarse sanding, stripping old coatings or removing pronounced unevenness.
- P120-P180: further levelling and intermediate sanding.
- P240-P400: finer sanding before the next finishing stage.
- P600 and finer: very fine sanding or preparation for polishing, depending on the material.
These are general guidelines. Choose the grit based on the substrate, desired finish and instructions for the next coat. Different grit grading standards are not always directly comparable.

-
Grit type describes the abrasive mineral used in a sanding product. It affects material removal, abrasive life and suitability for different surfaces.
- Aluminium oxide: a general-purpose abrasive for wood, paint and metal, among other materials.
- Silicon carbide: a very hard, sharp grit often used for fine sanding and wet-and-dry abrasive paper.
- Ceramic grit: wear-resistant and suitable for high material removal, particularly in demanding sanding work.
Grit size, backing material and machine choice also affect the final sanding result.
- Ceramic/aluminium oxide
