Quadriaxial Glass Fabric 1200 gr/m2 is an extra heavy duty glass fabric of high quality. The fabric is used for building boats, surfboards, longboards, skis and many other similar applications. The resin consumption is approximately 795 grams per square metre and the quadraxial glass mixture is suitable for lamination in combination with epoxy resin, polyester resin and vinylester resin. The glass mixture gives a laminate thickness of 1.32 mm. Quadraxial 1200 gr/m2 glass laminate is also available in a lighter variant (Quadraxiaal Glass Fabric 600 gr/m2).
What is quadraxiaal glass fabric?
Quadriaxial stitched glass fabric is a fabric that consists of 4 layers of unidirectional fibres, 1 layer in the length of the roll, 1 layer in the width of the roll and 2 layers in + and - 45 degree directions. This gives the fibre optimum compressive and tensile strength. The advantage of multiaxial glass fibre is that a light yet stiff construction can be created. Resin absorption is minimised because the fibres lie close together.
Quadraxial gass fabric provides high strength in every direction, it is so-called "quasi isotropic".
