Quadriaxial Glass Fabric 1200 gr/m2
- Low resin absorption
- Quasi isotropic
- Very good wetting
Quadriaxial Glass Fabric 1200 gr/m2 is a high-quality extra heavy-duty glass fabric. The fabric is used for building boats, surfboards, longboards, skis and many other similar applications. The resin consumption is approximately 1088 gr/m2 and is suitable for laminating with epoxy resin, polyester resin and vinylester resin. After hand lay-up and curing, the quadraxial fabric provides a laminate thickness of 1.55 mm.
What is Quadraxial glass fabric?
Quadraxial glass fabric is an advanced fabric consisting of 4 layers of unidirectional fibres. The fibres are oriented as follows: one layer along the length of the roll and one across the width, and two layers at angles of +45 and -45 degrees (0/90/-45/+45). This construction ensures excellent compressive and tensile strength in all directions, making the fabric quasi-isotropic.
This structure provides excellent compressive and tensile strength. A key advantage of this fabric is that it enables lightweight yet very stiff constructions. Resin absorption is minimised due to the tight fibre alignment, resulting in a stronger, more efficient laminate.
