Quadriaxial stitched glass fabric 600 gr/m2 is a heavy-duty glass fabric of high quality. The fabric is used for building boats, surfboards, longboards, skis and many other similar applications. The resin consumption is approximately 495 grams per square metre and the quadraxial glass mixture is suitable for lamination in combination with epoxy resin, polyester resin and vinylester resin. The glass mixture gives a laminate thickness of 0.66 mm. Quadraxial 600 gr/m2 is also available in an extra heavy variant (Quadriaxial Glass Fabric 1200 gr/m2).
About quadriaxial stitched glass fabric
The fabric consists of 4 layers of unidirectional fibres, 1 layer along the length of the roll, 1 layer across the width of the roll, and 2 layers in + and - 45 degree directions. This gives the fibre optimum compression and tensile strength. The advantage of multiaxial glass fibre is that a light yet stiff construction can be created. Resin absorption is minimised because the fibres lie close together.
Quadraxial glass fabric provides high strength in every direction, it is so-called "quasi isotropic".
