Problem Solver: Froth-Pak PU Foam

Are you encountering issues when working with Froth-Pak polyurethane foam? Check out the solutions for the most common problems when using Froth-Pak. We have clearly summarised the problem, cause, and solution in a table for your convenience.

Possible issues with Froth-Pak

Suitable for: Froth-Pak QR180, Froth-Pak QR600

Problem Cause Solution
1. The foam turns white and remains soft.

Blockage in the red cylinder (ISO). At low temperatures, this cylinder can crystallise, causing the nozzle to become blocked.

Regularly check the colour of the foam during spraying (it should be beige). If the nozzle is blocked, the foam will turn whiter. In that case, remove the nozzle, spray forcefully into a waste bag for a few seconds, and fit a new nozzle.

2. The foam turns yellow/brown and remains soft.

Blockage in the blue cylinder (POLYOL).

Regularly check the foam colour during spraying (it should be beige). If the nozzle is blocked, the colour will change. Remove the nozzle, spray forcefully into a rubbish bag for a few seconds, and fit a new nozzle to clear the blockage.

3. The spray pattern changes noticeably or the foam does not react properly.

The nozzle is saturated.

Replace the spray tip.

4. Many air bubbles in the PU foam.

The cylinders have not been sufficiently warmed.

Warm the cylinders to at least 24°C.

5. The PU foam does not cure or expand properly.

The cylinders have not been sufficiently warmed.

Warm the cylinders to at least 24°C.

6. One cylinder is empty while the other is still half full.

The cylinders have not been sufficiently warmed, or the hoses/nozzle are blocked.

Warm the cylinders to at least 24°C and replace the nozzle regularly.
