Product description

Expiry date 216 ml: 08/2024. This epoxy adhesive may still be usable, but we recommend testing it on a sample piece first. Expiry date 400 ml: 11/2027.

Westlake BP20 is a high-strength epoxy adhesive that is particularly suitable for fast-curing bonding applications in wind energy composite structures and for bonding composites and metals. This adhesive is especially suitable for bonding and repairing wind turbine blades.

Westlake BP20, also known as Epikote Resin MGS BP20, cures well even at low temperatures. Good mechanical properties develop already 24 hours after the initial cure. Full mechanical strength and thermal resistance are achieved after a post-cure (3 hours at 50–60 °C).

Packaging

MGS BP20 is available in cartridges of 400 ml (side-by-side) and 216 ml (U-TAH cartridge) and is therefore ideal for precise and clean bonding. This epoxy adhesive should only be used with the correct mixing tubes that ensure good mixing and low pressure loss.

Benefits of Westlake BP20 bonding paste

  • Fast adhesion to composites and metal.
  • Long processing time (15 minutes).
  • Developed for professional applications, but also suitable for DIY projects.

Directions for use

We recommend using this bonding paste in the following way:

  • Remove cap nut and plug.
  • Squeeze out material until the hardener and resin are at the same level.
  • Attach the mixing tube and secure with cap nut.
  • Reject the first 5-15 grams until colour is homogeneous.

We recommend storing BP20 in the dark (without exposure to direct sunlight or UV) at temperatures between 15-30°C. The material does not tend to crystallize, but lower temperatures make processing more difficult. MGS BP20 can be stored for up to 24 months in the original unopened cartridges. When processing MGS BP20 at low temperatures, the cartridges should be warmed up to 20-40 °C before use.
