RESION PU TireProof Finish
- PU topcoat for cast floors
- Resistant to car tyres
- Non yellowing
RESION TireProof Finish is a two-component, water-based, extremely hard polyurethane-based top layer. This strong PU satin gloss coating extends the lifespan of your epoxy or PU cast floor and increases the resistance to chemicals (hair dye, cleaning products, etc.) and plasticizers (for example from rubber).
PU TireProof Finish is stronger than RESION PU Matte Gloss, making the coating also suitable for outdoor applications. The polyurethane floor coating is also resistant to migration of the rubber from car tires. By finishing your cast floor with this transparent coating you also reduce dirt adhesion and the coating simplifies the maintenance of your floor.
Features RESION TireProof Finish
- Resistant to car tires, chemicals (hair dye, cleaning products, etc.)
- Water-based
- Non-yellowing (aliphatic)
- Easy to clean
- Low VOC level
Instructions for use
Before you start, it is important that the surface is properly prepared. The substrate must be sound and sufficiently compressive (minimum 25 N/mm2), with a minimum adhesive strength of 1.5 N/mm2. The surface must be clean, dry and free of dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants. If the surface is older than 48 hours, always perform an adhesion test. Then follow the instructions below to properly process RESION PU TireProof Finish:
- Add component B to component A while stirring.
- Mix thoroughly for approximately 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Also scrape the bottom and edges of the packaging well.
- Now let the whole thing pre-react for 10 minutes.
- Pour the mixture through the supplied sieve into a clean bucket and mix it intensively for another 1 minute to avoid unmixed parts.
Tip: make sure the mixing basket is completely below the liquid level. Always mix at the highest possible speed to ensure the best possible emulsification. During mixing, a nice swirl should form in the bucket, but under no circumstances should the coating slurp or splash. Once that happens, continue mixing at a lower speed.
- After mixing, you have a processing time of approximately 30 minutes at a temperature of 20°C.
- Pour the mixed components into a paint tray.
- Apply the coating evenly with a velor roller.
- Work quickly and always wet on wet. Do not work too quickly to prevent drying.
- Try to keep drafts to a minimum during application (keep windows and doors closed). After the coating has been applied, it is important to ventilate the room to prevent surface disturbance.
- Allow the polyurethane coating to harden after application (see technical properties for curing times).
- For extra wear resistance and extra UV protection, you can apply an extra layer of TireProof Finish after 24 hours and within 48 hours. The coating can be overlaid with an extra layer of Coating PU TR.
Dew point temperature: also be careful of condensation. The temperature of the substrate and the uncured material must be at least 3ºC higher than the dew point to prevent the risk of condensation or whitening of the finish.
