Benefits of RESION Epoxy floor primer
- Water-based.
- Fast curing (6 hours at 20°C).
- High coverage.
- Good adhesion.
- Solvent-free.
Suitable substrates
The universal RESION EP WB floor primer is suitable for use on non-absorbent to slightly absorbent substrates. This makes the floor primer suitable for use on dry and smooth substrates such as:
- New concrete floors.
- Cement-based screeds.
- Existing epoxy and polyurethane resin floors/coatings.
- Hard-baked and glazed tiles.
- Ceramic substrates.
Processing instructions
The water-based epoxy floor primer is easy to apply. Before applying the primer, it is important to properly prepare the substrate. We recommend sanding concrete floors with a diamond disc. You can roughen tiled floors with a PKD disc.
Follow the steps below to properly apply the epoxy floor primer:
- Add component A (plastic container) completely to component B (metal container).
- Mix both components for 2 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Use a spiral mixer attached to a drill.
- Add 20% to a maximum of 50% water to the mixture. Gradually add small amounts of water to the mixture, making sure that the previous amount is fully incorporated into the mixture. Start with small amounts of water and add it slowly until the mixture reaches the desired consistency.
- Now pour the mixture into a clean bucket and mix the components thoroughly once more.
- Apply the primer with a fleece roller and cross-roll the primer. Avoid leaving puddles of primer.
- Is the surface more porous than expected? Apply a second layer of RESION Epoxy floor primer.
- Allow the primer to cure for appriximately 6 hours. The exact curing time depends on factors such as ambient temperature, amount of water and substrate density.
- Then proceed with applying floor coating or cast floor of your choice.
