Sikaflex-291i is a multifunctional sealant for yacht and shipbuilding applications. This 1-component polyurethane sealant has been specially developed for creating elastic, vibration-resistant joint seals and is suitable for a wide range of sealing and bonding applications on board.

Sikaflex-291i cures through exposure to atmospheric moisture and has good non-sag properties. Thanks to its very low VOC content, low odour and low isocyanate content, the sealant is easy to work with. The product also complies with the low flame-spread requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and is Wheelmark-certified.

Applications

Sikaflex-291i is a multifunctional sealant and adhesive for yacht and shipbuilding applications. The sealant is particularly suitable for sealing and bonding various components in both the interior and exterior of boats and ships and for creating flexible, vibration-resistant joint seals.

Thanks to its good adhesion to a variety of commonly used marine materials, Sikaflex-291i is suitable for a wide range of applications. The sealant adheres well to materials including:

• Wood.
• Metals.
• 2-component paint systems.
• Ceramic materials.
• Plastics, such as GRP.

For applications with prolonged exposure to UV radiation, Sikaflex-291i is less suitable due to its limited UV resistance. For exterior applications or areas exposed to high levels of UV radiation, Sikaflex-591 is a better choice.
