New Generation Epoxy | Discover the Improved EP101UV Epoxy Resin

Our best-selling epoxy resin has been upgraded and is now more transparent than ever! After months of intensive testing and optimisation in collaboration with our European suppliers, we have further improved the formula. We are proud to introduce this new generation of epoxy resin.

Since early July, our UV-resistant epoxy resin has been supplied as standard with this updated formulation. In this article, you’ll learn all about the improvements, the production process, and what you’ll notice in practice.

What's new?

The upgraded EP101UV base epoxy contains a new additive that provides significantly higher clarity. This addition not only makes the epoxy more transparent, but also better resistance to heat during curing. The result is a crystal-clear epoxy with excellent UV resistance.

Note: like any epoxy, this product may yellow over time with prolonged UV exposure. For long-term protection, we recommend finishing with a scratch- and UV-resistant varnish, such as Double Coat DD Lak.

Dutch production & quality control

The updated epoxy was developed in collaboration with European suppliers and is fully assembled at our own production facility in Moordrecht, the Netherlands. This is notable because many Dutch epoxy suppliers do not have these facilities themselves. We have a fully automatic filling line and a mechanical mixing installation, allowing us to produce under controlled conditions. This gives us complete control over the quality of our products.

Every batch of EP101UV is also tested in our laboratory for transparency. Only when the product meets our high standards is it released for sale.

Which products use the new formula?

The new resin formula is applied in the following RESION epoxy products:

Note: the formula of the Resin Art epoxy resins (low, medium, high viscosity) has not been changed. For optimal transparency and UV resistance, it is best to choose one of the above resins with the updated formula.

What will you notice?

While working with the new epoxy, you will notice very little difference in handling. The mixing ratio, curing time, and other processing properties remain the same. The difference is visible in the final result: your castings will be clearer than before!

Where can you buy the new epoxy?

The updated formula is now supplied as standard in all EP101UV packaging. You don’t need to change anything; simply order the familiar product from the epoxy range.

Note: for a temporary promotion, special labels marked “EP101UV+” are in circulation. This is exactly the same epoxy with the updated formula. These promotional labels will gradually disappear.

A limited stock of the old formula epoxy is still available. If clarity is less important to you, for example because you are using coloured epoxy, you can now benefit from a 20% discount on this remaining stock. Order the old epoxy here - while stock lasts!
