SphereCore S 4 mm core material
At a glance
- Fast resin absorption
- Extra stiffness, low weight
- Prevents print-through
Product description
SphereCore S (4 mm) is a lightweight glass veil-based core material that adds extra thickness and stiffness to your polyester or vinyl ester product without adding unnecessary weight. Once saturated with resin, the material becomes soft and highly conformable. This allows the material to overlap seamlessly and ensures excellent bonding with the surrounding fibreglass layers.
SphereCore S is also the ideal choice for achieving a smooth, high-quality finish. It prevents the structure of underlying layers, such as heavier fabrics, PVC foam or balsa, from showing through on the surface (print-through). The material is mainly used in hand lay-up applications for both flat panels and moulded parts, such as scooter panels, automotive body parts, pond liners, boat decks and boat roofs.
Benefits of SphereCore S
- Adds extra thickness and stiffness with minimal weight increase.
- Quickly absorbs resin, offers controlled resin consumption and can easily be cut to size with scissors.
- Becomes soft and highly conformable after resin impregnation, allowing seamless overlaps.
- Prevents print-through of underlying fabrics or core materials.
