Epifanes Clear Varnish

- Classic yacht varnish
- High elasticity
- High UV resistance
Epifanes Clear Varnish is a high-gloss classic yacht varnish with long-lasting gloss retention. It is a one-component varnish with excellent UV resistance, enhanced by the addition of an UV filter. This offers optimal protection against discolouration of wood caused by sunlight! This boat varnish excels because of its exceptionally high elasticity, which prevents it from cracking on working wood. Thanks to its composition of wood oil, alkyd resins, and advanced UV filters, this varnish offers outstanding resistance to weather conditions, water, and wear. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use and can be applied to new wood or used as a maintenance coat over existing varnish layers.
Benefits of Epifanes Clear Varnish
Epifanes Clear Varnish provides unparalleled protection and a deep, long-lasting gloss that enhances the natural character of the wood. It is extremely weather-resistant, water-repellent, and UV-resistant, preventing ageing and discolouration. Thanks to its excellent flow and adhesion, it is easy to apply and suitable for a wide range of wood types. Moreover, the varnish remains flexible and resists cracking or peeling, even in fluctuating temperatures and humid environments.
Features Epifanes Clear Varnish
Epifanes clear yacht varnish is user-friendly. Other features include:
- 1-component yacht varnish.
- Very high UV resistance.
- Highly elastic.
- Long-lasting gloss retention
Applications
Epifanes Clear Varnish can be used for new work on solid bare wood (e.g. meranti, mahogany, Oregon pine), marine plywood used indoors and used outdoors, above the waterline. In addition, it can be used for maintaining existing, intact one- and two-component paint systems, regardless of the brand.
Application of Epifanes Clear Varnish
Do not apply Epifanes Clear Varnish wet-on-wet and avoid exceeding the recommended film thickness. This helps prevent sagging and issues with proper curing. Always ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying of the varnish. Avoid applying varnish in direct sunlight or in windy conditions, as these can cause rapid solvent evaporation, which may interfere with proper flow and levelling of the varnish.
