Sikaflex-292i is a multipurpose structural adhesive for marine applications. It is a non-sag, 1-component polyurethane adhesive with a thixotropic, paste-like consistency that cures on exposure to atmospheric moisture. Sikaflex-292i has excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates and good mechanical strength. Sikaflex®-292i meets the low flame-spread requirements set out by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Applications

Sikaflex-292i is suitable for structural bonding applications in yacht and shipbuilding that are subjected to high dynamic stresses. It is suitable for bonding metals, particularly aluminium (including anodized finishes), metal primers and paint coatings (2-component systems), ceramic materials and plastics such as GRP (unsaturated polyester resin), ABS and similar materials. Always perform tests with the actual substrates under local conditions to determine adhesion and material compatibility.

Note: transparent plastics and mineral glass should not be bonded with Sikaflex-292i.
