Epoxy resin for high temperatures up to 130°C

- Long processing time
- Ideal for moulds
- High temperature resistance
Special epoxy resin with very high temperature resistance. After post-cure, the resin is suitable for temperatures up to approx. 130 degrees. This heat-resistant epoxy is the ideal resin for applications where increased temperature resistance is required. Due to its low viscosity, the epoxy is very suitable for impregnating fabrics by hand or by means of vacuum injection. In combination with fillers such as Stewathix, you can easily make adhesive bonds or filling compounds from this epoxy.
Benefits of this heat resistant epoxy
- Very high temperature resistance (130°C).
- Long processing time.
- Suitable for various applications (casting, vacuum injection, hand lamination etc).
Instructions for use of heat resistant epoxy
The High Temp epoxy bonds excellently to glass fibre, carbon fibre and aramid fibre. This makes the resin suitable for use in high and dynamically loaded constructions. High temperature epoxy is often used for the following applications:
- Yacht building
- Skis, snowboards, surfboards and skateboards
- Masts and booms
- Laminating with glass fabric
- Laminating with carbon fabric
- Laminating with aramid fabric
- Etc.
Instructions for use of heat resistant epoxy
Weigh the components according to the mixing ratio 100:30 (by weight) and mix the components well until a homogeneous mass is formed. Also include the edges and bottom of the mixing cup during mixing. After mixing, the epoxy is immediately ready for use. Apply the resin with a brush, velvet roller or by means of the vacuum injection technique. After curing the epoxy at room temperature, it is still brittle. A post-cure at at least 50°C is then necessary. The product can then be further 'postcured' free-standing. See the table below for possible post-cure cycles:
Post-cure | Temperature | TG* |
20 hours | 100 °C | 105-120 °C |
20 hours | 140 °C | 135-120 °C |
*Glass temperature (Tg) = the temperature at which epoxy becomes rubbery and flexible.
