Product description

Araldite DBF with Aradur HY 956 EN is a low-viscosity epoxy casting resin for potting and encapsulating of low-voltage and electronic components. Encapsulating electronic components in epoxy creates an electrically insulating layer that helps protect the components against external influences.

Once cured, the material has a dielectric strength of 24 kV/mm. This casting resin also offers good resistance to heat, atmospheric influences and chemical attack. Thanks to its low viscosity, the epoxy flows easily around components and into small gaps.

Potting electronics with epoxy

Araldite DBF / Aradur HY 956 EN has been developed for potting low-voltage and electronic components. This process is also referred to as encapsulation. In this process, electronic components are fully or partially enclosed in a casting resin. After curing, the epoxy forms an electrically insulating layer around the components. For example, you can use this epoxy resin as a casting resin for junction boxes.

Directions for use of Araldite DBF

Mix Araldite DBF epoxy resin with Aradur HY 956 EN hardener in the correct ratio:

Weigh out 100 parts Araldite DBF.
Add 20 parts Aradur HY 956 EN.
Mix the resin and hardener thoroughly until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Try to incorporate as little air as possible during mixing.
Then pour the epoxy around the electronic components. The working time is approximately 70 minutes at 25°C.
Allow the material to cure at room temperature for at least 24 to 48 hours.

Please note: heat is generated during the curing of larger castings. We therefore recommend casting a maximum of approximately 500 grams of epoxy at a time. With larger volumes, the epoxy may become too hot. Therefore, process larger quantities in several smaller pours.
