Posca markers are pigment-based paint markers that are suitable for use on almost any surface. The unique water-based formula offers both matte and bright, opaque colours that last very long. The markers are available in different colours and each variant has a unique tip.
Posca markers are ideal for finishing your Resin Art coasters, etagères, paintings or similar applications.
Properties of Posca markers:
You can buy Posca markers in 8 different sizes (tip thickness). The markers are available with a very thick tip for covering large surfaces, but also with a very thin point for applying fine lines. Posca markers are available in many different colours, including primary, metallic, fluorescent and glitter colours.
The following Posca markers are currently included in the Polyestershoppen collection. View the product page of the marker for available colours, specifications and applications.

Posca markers are very easy to use. In the video below, Leen shows how to beautifully finish the edges of a coaster using a Posca marker. We have written out all 5 steps below, including all the necessary materials. This way you can go through it at your leisure. In this video we use the Posca PC-8K paint pen.
Before you can use the marker, you must shake it well for a minute. Shake the pen upside down with the cap closed. You can hear the ball rattling while shaking.
Start the Posca marker by pressing the tip on a sheet of paper several times. Do this until the tip is sufficiently soaked with paint. We recommend that you always make a test before applying it to the surface of your work of art. It can be useful to always have an old cloth on hand to easily clean the tip or absorb excess paint.
Now that you have activated and tested the paint pen, you can start using it! Apply a first layer to your coaster, etagère, geode, painting or other work of art. For a nice opaque layer, you can also apply a second layer when the first layer has dried.
For extra colourfast protection you can seal with a layer of epoxy (apply with a brush). This way you can, as it were, seal the layer.
If the opacity decreases while designing, you can easily reactivate the marker. You just have to shake the pen well. Make sure that the cap is always on the pen. This way you prevent paint splashes. After shaking, you can perform another test and use the paint marker again!
If necessary, you can clean the tip with tap water as often as you like. If the tip has become extremely dry, you can also soak it in water overnight.
You can store the Poscas in any position, as long as they are closed properly after use. The ball in the marker ensures that the paint is continuously spread. So make sure that it is properly stored in the marker. Preferably keep the Posca marker horizontally.
