With 3M Scotch-Weld DP8005 acrylic adhesive, you can effortlessly bond low surface energy plastics such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) without any surface preparation. These materials are often difficult to bond, which makes DP8005 a highly popular adhesive. This adhesive cures at room temperature without the need for heat or additional chemicals, eliminating complex post-processing. In addition, it offers excellent resistance to water and humidity, combined with excellent chemical resistance, resulting in durable adhesion that can withstand a wide range of applications and conditions.

Adhesive for PP (polypropylene)

Polypropylene, often abbreviated as PP, is a fairly rigid plastic with high impact resistance and excellent chemical resistance. The material is lightweight and is commonly used for containers and jerry cans. Not every adhesive is suitable for bonding this type of plastic, but with 3M Scotch-Weld DP8005 you can easily bond PP to a variety of surfaces.

In addition to bonding PP, this acrylic adhesive is also highly suitable for bonding PE (polyethylene), HDPE, ABS, PMMA, aluminium, mild steel and galvanised steel. In short, a highly versatile adhesive. As these plastics are used in a wide range of products, you will likely need this adhesive regularly for your projects.

Tip: by ordering the correct applicator gun and suitable mixing nozzles at the same time, you can get started with your adhesive straight away.
