2K Polyurethane foam
- Fast curing
- Fine-celled
- High quality
RESION PU Foam is a lightweight, rigid polyurethane foam, ideal for filling hollow spaces in boats, tanks, and floats. It is also widely used for insulation, as well as for creating sculptures, carvings, moulds, and models.
This polyurethane foam is easy to mix and, within 1–2 minutes, expands to approximately 20–25 times its original volume. It has a very fine cell structure and can be easily shaped with simple tools. Once cured, the 2K PU foam is compatible with both polyester and epoxy resins, allowing you to finish it with these materials as desired.
Properties PU foam
- Mixing ratio (volume parts): 1 part Polyol, 1 part Iso.
- The processing time at 20ºC is approx. 1-2 minutes.
- The minimum processing temperature is 18 ºC.
- Foamed weight is approx. 38-50 kg/m3.
- Foaming depends on shape and temperature.
Directions for use
First, determine the required amount of PU foam for your project. Please note that in narrow cavities an overdose of up to 100% may be necessary to completely fill the cavity. To obtain comparable results, make sure that the conditions are the same. Follow the steps below to use the product:
- Keep the temperature of component A and B constant (minimum 18ºC).
- Weigh or measure both components accurately before mixing.
- Mix component A and add component B to it.
- Use a large mixer (e.g. a large spiral mixer) and mix at a speed of 1,500 rpm for batches of 5-10 kg. Overdose of foam in narrow cavities can increase the density and pressure on the cavity walls.
- Wet the surface of small cavities (with a brush, spray or by tumbling the cavity) to help the foam adhere to the walls.
- Place long, narrow shapes at an angle of 10-15º to fill them completely.
- Make sure the temperature of the cavity is 15-25ºC.
