RESION Epoxy floor primer is a fast drying primer suitable for both smooth, dry and damp surfaces. The epoxy floor primer is water based and is cured within 6 hours! Suitable substrates
The universal RESION EP WB floor primer is suitable for use on non-absorbent to low-absorbent substrates. This makes the floor primer suitable for use on dry and smooth substrates such as:
- New concrete floors.
- Cement-based screeds.
- Existing epoxy and polyurethane cast floors/coatings.
- Hard-baked and glazed tiles.
- Ceramic substrates.
Processing instructions
The water-based epoxy floor primer is easy to use. Before applying the primer, it is important to pre-treat the surface properly. We recommend sanding concrete floors with a diamond disc. You can grind open tiled floors with a PKD disc.
Then follow the steps below to properly use the epoxy floor primer:
- Add component A (plastic packaging) completely to component B (tin packaging).
- Mix both components for 2 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Use a spiral mixer on a drill for this.
- Add 20% to a maximum of 50% water to the mixture. Gradually add small amounts of water to the mixture, making sure that the previous amount is already dissolved in the mixture. Start with small amounts of water and add it slowly until the mixture becomes thinner.
- Now pour the mixture into a clean bucket and mix the components well again.
- When the components have been mixed well, you can apply the primer to the concrete surface with a roller. Repeat this by rolling crosswise. Avoid leaving puddles of primer.
- Then apply the primer with a fleece roller and roll crosswise. Avoid leaving puddles of primer.
- Is the surface more porous than expected? Apply a second layer of RESION Epoxy floor primer.
- Allow the primer to cure for 6 hours. The exact curing time depends on factors such as ambient temperature, amount of water and density of the floor.
- Then proceed with applying floor coating or cast floor of your choice.
