Epifanes Woodfinish Matte

Epifanes Woodfinish Matte is a fast-drying, single-component matt oil varnish with a UV filter that protects the wood against wear and scratches. Thanks to its regulating properties, this varnish is particularly suitable for teak, iroko and other oily wood species. The varnish flows out smoothly and provides durable protection against water as well as splashes of alcohol and household chemicals.
Application
We recommend using Epifanes Woodfinish Matte primarily on interior woodwork and, if desired, on exterior woodwork as a matt finish over a build-up of single- and two-component gloss varnishes, such as Epifanes Hardwood Oil Varnish or Epifanes Clear Varnish.
Directions for use
Always apply a varnish system in multiple coats for the best results. To achieve deep penetration into the wood grain, we recommend first applying a few coats of gloss primer. After this, you can apply several coats of undiluted matt topcoat.
Gloss varnish fills the wood grain faster and more effectively than matt varnish. Therefore, always apply gloss coats on bare wood first. The complete system build-up can be found under the “Documents” tab on this page.
As an alternative to Epifanes Hardwood Oil Varnish you can also apply three coats of Epifanes Clear Varnish or four to five coats of Epifanes Rapidclear.
