Easily create a beautiful metallic floor on an epoxy basis yourself. The possibilities are endless, because you can combine various pigments for beautiful effects. This makes the metallic epoxy floor ideal for dance halls, bedrooms, showrooms, shops and much more. With the help of our videos, you can easily create a high-quality epoxy floor yourself. Here we explain how to apply the floor in a clearly structured step-by-step plan.
Instructions for use for metallic epoxy
To use metallic epoxy in your screed, it must first be prepared with a hardener. To do this, add the epoxy hardener and the metallic powder pigment to the UV Epoxy base. This epoxy resin is UV stabilised and is therefore highly resistant to UV light. This makes adding UV stabilizer unnecessary. Then follow the steps below:
- Mix for at least 3 minutes until it is a homogeneous mass.
- After mixing, immediately spread the resin over the floor along the edges.
- Spread the metallic floor epoxy over the entire floor with a floor squeegee.
- Bleed the floor coating with a spiked roller and wear special spiked soles for large floor areas.
How to make a metallic epoxy floor
Now that you know what the user instructions are, let's move on to making an epoxy floor. Follow the steps below:
- First of all, make sure you apply the correct primer for optimal adhesion. If necessary, level the floor with epoxy leveling compound for the best result.
- Then apply a layer of floor coating in the correct colour as a base layer. You can create different effects with the base colour.
- After curing and sanding the base layer, pour the metallic epoxy in a thin layer of approximately 1 mm over the floor (the instructions for using the metallic epoxy layer are described above).
- If necessary, finish the floor with a matt gloss coating.
