Clear epoxy floor coating
- Nice transparent layer
- Smooth flow and high gloss
- From 250gr/m2
With this epoxy you can make a beautiful clear cast floor yourself. This system is perfect for obtaining a beautiful floor with a transparent coating. In this way, you maintain the appearance of the substrate, but you benefit from the properties of epoxy such as high strength and chemical resistance. As the name suggests, this epoxy floor coating is completely transparent. The epoxy system is UV-stabilized, so you will not suffer from yellowing. Combined with the right primer, the transparent floor coating can be applied to concrete, sand-cement, anhydrite, granite and tile floors, among others.
You can apply it in thin layers with a roller or, if you wish, pour it in thicker layers. The epoxy then levels out completely flat.
Applications clear epoxy floor coating
Clear floor coating is ideal if you still want to see the substrate, but are looking for extra reinforcement. It is therefore often used for the following applications:
- As a gloss layer on (damaged) tile floors.
- As a protective layer on cement-bonded floors (concrete, sand-cement, anhydrite).
- As a glass like layer on 3D floors.
Instructions for use of Clear epoxy floor coating
This product has a processing time of 60 to 90 minutes. Once applied, the epoxy is safe to walk on after approximately 48 hours. This depends on the room temperature. After about 7 days, the coating is fully cured.
Step 1. Prepare the floor
Clean the surface thoroughly by vacuuming and cleaning with ammonia and water. This will remove dirt and dust from the floor.
Step 2. Prime the floor
If necessary, use a suitable primer to improve the adhesion of the floor:
- RESION Epoxy floor primer for dry substrates: concrete, sand cement, anhydrite, wood, etc.
- RESION Epoxy floor primer: tiles, glass, mosaic, granite, etc.
Step 3. Apply the clear coating
- Thoroughly mix the base (A) with the hardener (B) using a spiral mixer and a drill.
- Pour the epoxy mass onto the floor in sections and treat as required. The pot life of the mixture is 60-90 minutes.
- You can use this epoxy flooring system as a floor coating and as a screed. Below you will find the consumptions for these applications:
-
- Use as a coating: approx. 250 gr/m2 per layer.
- Use as a cast floor: approx. 1.1 kg per m2 per mm layer thickness.
Packaging | Yield as a coating | Yield as a cast floor |
7.5 kg | 30 m2 | 6 m2 |
15 kg | 60 m2 | 13 m2 |
30 kg | 120 m2 | 27 m2 |
- After about 48 hours, the epoxy is hardened and walkable. The curing time is strongly influenced by temperature. At high temperatures, the floor hardens faster than at low temperatures. After about 7 days, the epoxy is completely hardened.
4. Finish
You can leave the transparent epoxy flooring in its natural state, but for better scratch resistance, we recommend finishing it with one of the products below:
- High gloss: DD Paint High Gloss
- Silk gloss: RESION Matte Floor Finish
On floors with a maximum area of 15m2, DD paint can be applied. On larger floors, we recommend applying RESION Matte Floor Finish.
