Product description

RESION Polyester casting resin is a transparent casting resin with high UV-resistance and low shrinkage. This casting resin is suitable for casting objects and for decorative castings and organic products such as flowers or insects, among others. You can colour the transparent polyester casting resin with various polyester pigments.

How to use polyester casting resin

Polyester casting resin is easy to apply. To influence the processing time, you can vary the amount of hardener between 1% and 3%. Adjust the quantity of hardener depending on the temperature and the quantity of resin. As a guideline, we use 2%. This gives the resin a processing time of about 20 minutes. 

When working with polyester casting resin, always wear a vapour mask, nitrile gloves and protective clothing.

Tip: mix a quantity you can process within 10 minutes.

Polyester hardener

When buying the casting resin, you need to order a hardener for polyester casting resin (MEKP) along with it. The table below indicates the recommended quantity of hardener.

Below is an overview of the hardener required per quantity of polyester casting resin, based on the thickness of the object to be cast. We do not recommend using this product as a coating or for layers thinner than 1 centimetre. See the datasheet for more detailed information. Please note: it is not possible to cast deeper than 6 cm at a time!
