Cotton fibre

- Ideal for bonding wood
- Easy to process
- Fast thickening result
Cotton fibres provide rapid thickening of epoxy and polyester resins and are easily sanded. Cotton fibres absorb the resin, but release the mixture under pressure so that a very good adhesive surface is obtained during bonding.
Highly recommended for bonding wood with epoxy resin.
Making epoxy fillet with cotton fibre
By thickening epoxy with cotton fibre, you can easily make a glue paste that is very suitable for bonding to wood. In addition, you can use cotton fibre as an excellent fillet connection. A fillet connection is easy to make:
- Mix the universal epoxy with the corresponding hardener in a ratio of 100:50 for approximately 3 minutes.
- Add cotton fibre to the mixed epoxy until a 'peanut butter thickness' is achieved.
- Then process the thickened epoxy as desired with a putty knife. If you use the universal epoxy with a fast hardener, you have a processing time of approximately 20 minutes at room temperature. When using epoxy with a slow hardener, you have a long processing time of approximately 50 minutes.
In the video below, Arne shows how to make a fillet connection with epoxy and cotton fibre.
