Product description

West System Epoxy Slow is a transparent, low-viscosity epoxy resin that delivers excellent performance across a wide range of applications. When combined with 206 Slow Hardener, it forms a slow-curing epoxy system that is ideal for projects requiring a long working time.

This epoxy system provides a strong, moisture-resistant, and durable bond and can be used as an adhesive, filler, or laminating resin in various industries.

Benefits of West System Epoxy Slow

  • Long working time and controlled curing.
  • Excellent adhesion.
  • Suitable for a wide range of applications.
Note: this system is not suitable as a clear finish. For that purpose, use RESION UV Epoxy (casting resin) or RESION UV Clear Coat.

Applications

Like other universal epoxy resins, West System Epoxy Slow can be used for bonding and laminating:

  • Wood fibres
  • Glass fibres
  • Reinforcing fabrics
  • Composite materials
  • Various metals

Directions for use

  • Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and grease-free.
  • Mix 5 parts 105 Epoxy Resin with 1 part 206 Slow Hardener (ratio 5:1).
  • Stir the mixture thoroughly for at least 3 minutes, including along the edges and bottom of the container. Only mix the amount you can use within the pot life.
  • Optionally, add fillers to modify the resin.
  • Apply the epoxy with a brush, roller, or spatula. The working time is approximately 30 minutes at 25°C.
    • For laminating: ensure complete saturation of the fabric.
    • For bonding: apply a thin layer of epoxy to both surfaces.
  • Allow the material to cure for approximately 9–12 hours.
  • Sand or overcoat only once the epoxy is fully cured.
Tip: use the handy West System pump sets to easily dispense resin and hardener in the correct ratio.
