Product description

Airvik-9 spray adhesive for vacuum infusion securely bonds fabrics and vacuum materials together, preventing them from shifting during lay-up. This saves time and ensures a more precise fabric lay-up. Vacuum materials can also be easily bonded together, ensuring that everything stays in place.

Airvik-9 spray adhesive is suitable for both epoxy and polyester, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of applications.

Tip for wet bagging: pre-bond the perforated film and bleeder using the spray adhesive. This saves valuable time when applying the vacuum materials.

Tip for resin infusion:
pre-bond the perforated film and infusion mesh using the adhesive. This makes the materials easier to handle than when using them separately.

Airvik-9 Features

  • Easy to spray.
  • Suitable for epoxy and polyester.
  • Good adhesion to fibres and fabric.
  • Suitable for glass fibre, aramid fibre and carbon fibre.
  • High solids content and good coverage.
  • Does not affect curing or laminate strength.
  • Contains a colour tracer for improved visibility during application.

Applications

Airvik-9 spray adhesive is suitable for the following applications:

  • Positioning glass fibre, carbon fibre, Kevlar and other fabrics.
  • Positioning foam materials such as PU, PVC, PET and similar materials.
  • Holding multiple layers of fabric and foam in place (horizontally, vertically or overhead).

Directions for use

  1. Shake the aerosol can well before use.
  2. Make sure the surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from dust.
  3. Apply an even layer of adhesive to one or both surfaces from a distance of 15–25 cm.
  4. For bonding fabrics to surfaces: allow the solvents to evaporate (10 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on the temperature).
For positioning layers of foam, wood or fabrics: allow the solvents to evaporate (30 seconds to 10 minutes, depending on the temperature and desired adhesion).
  5. Press the parts firmly together. Full cure takes 24–48 hours.
